1.      Business Development Officer

Essential Functions

  • Identifies areas of research and conduct studies related to the expansion or the development of new lines of profitable business and new banking products.
  • Make assessments of market opportunities and target markets
  • Gather data on competitors and analyses their method of operation and business development practices and submits recommendation to the supervisor
  • Conducts branch feasibility studies based on outcome proposes expansion program.
  • Carries out periodic branch grading studies.
  • Gathers macro studies on domestic economy and its impact on the financial services in general and the banking industry in particular.
  • Gathers and maintains statistical data on the banking industry.
  • Perform other related duties as required.

Job Requirements

BA in Marketing and communication, Accounting, Management, Business Administration, Banking and Finance, any other related fields with 3.5 years of experience in relevant fields, preferably in banking industry, of which 1 year as relevant officer position.

2.      Knowledge Management Officer

Essential Functions

  • Collect all internal resources like manuals, reports from departments in hard and softcopy and make them accessible for reference;
  • Prepare annual budget of the Knowledge Management center;
  • Follow up subscription of newspapers, brochures and journals for the Knowledge Management center
  • Gather the annual and periodic reports of all the commercial banks and the NBE ;
  • Prepare manuals and guidelines for the Knowledge Management center ;
  • Organize the materials in the Knowledge Management center in an accessible way ;
  • Organize, compile and consolidate the necessary data for research and planning purpose (Online and in softcopy);
  • Regularly attest the information need of both the internal and external stakeholders and respond to their request timely ;
  • Performs other duties as required by the supervisor

Job Requirements

B.Sc. Degree in Management Information systems, Computer science, Information Systems, and any other related fields of studies with 3.5 years of experience in related fields, preferably in banking industry.

3.      Branch Cash Administrator Grade B

Essential Functions

  • Weigh, wrap, pack Birr and remove tags and special security tabs,
  • Help prominent customers in cash counting,
  • Disburse cash to designated Bank clerks,
  • Collect surplus cash from Bank clerks,
  • Keep records of amounts received and paid and regularly check the cash balance against record,
  • Operate automatic ticket-issuing machines and other computerized equipment
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by supervisor.

Job Requirements

BA in Accounting, Accounting & finance, Banking & Insurance, Banking & finance, Business Administration, Management, or other related fields with 3.5 years of experience; or Diploma/10+3/Level III and above/ in the same fields with 5 years of experience in branch operations in banking industry, of which at least 1 year as Cashier or Senior Customer Service Officer

4.      Branch Accounts Administrator – Grade B

Essential Functions

  • Ensures and ascertains the intactness of records of books of accounts on daily basis,
  • Ensures that all daily transaction tickets are in agreement with System output,
  • Authorizes transactions and signs documents as referred by the CSO,
  • Retains and validates Original CD against the System at time of settlement,
  • Validates and authorizes deposit/payment of Financial Instruments,
  • Dispatches / Receives cheques and Payment Instruments of other banks to/from Finance Department,
  • Keeps custody of daily transaction and account opening documents.

Job Requirements

BA in Accounting, Banking & Insurance, Banking & Finance and other related fields with 3.5 years of experience in banking operation, of which at least 1 year on Senior Customer Service Officer or equivalent position.

5.      Senior Planning, Monitoring And Evaluation Officer

Essential Functions

  • Conduct activities in regard to preparation of strategic plan of the Bank;
  • Participate in preparation of strategic plan management of the Bank;
  • Performs the annual planning activities of the division and as well as the Bank;
  • Follow up and see the profitability and growth rate of the Bank;
  • Prepares and consolidate periodic monthly, quarterly and annually performance reports;
  • Conducts studies to assess the Bank’s performance and advise department regarding results of studies;
  • Performs planning, monitoring and evaluation report of the Bank in an orderly and timely manner, to the required quality ,in line with plans and corporate Requirementss;
  • Reviews proposals for major capital expenditures to ensure conformity with plans and determines economic justification of proposals;
  • Consolidates and prepare annual plan and budget of the Bank;
  • Prepare and consolidates action plan of the bank;
  • Periodically summarizes the Bank performance in comparison with competing banks/peers groups;
  • Gather macro studies on domestic economy and its impact on the financial services in general and banking industry in particular;

Job Requirements

MBA,MA/BA in Economics, Accounting, Management, Business Administration, Management Information Systems and any other related fields with 5.5/3.5 years of experience in banking operation, of which at least 2 year as relevant officer.

6.      Senior Human Resource Management Officer

Essential Functions

  • Involve in the development and amendment of  human resource policy, procedure , manual and guidelines
  • Makes professional contribution to the existence of proper organizational structure, job description, job grades, and job specification
  • Participate in the implementation of personnel policies and strategies  and resolves  procedural problems arising from their applications
  • Make career development of staff and or succession planning
  • Studies employee satisfaction, turnover, absenteeism, other personnel issues and identifies root causes and proposes  solution options
  • Handles employee grievances, disciplinary issues and other administrative problems when necessary
  • Advice on the proper implementation of the rules and regulations on employee benefits policy and procedure manual
  • Analyze and Propose benefit issues that needs study and amendments
  • Design to implement career development structure and succession planning programs
  • Initiates or suggests plans to motivate employees to achieve desired goals and objectives
  • Evaluate and analyses the current performance of employee  evaluation  system and propose better systems,
  • Design to implement team development exercises on staff events and related meetings when necessary
  • Advise and support on employee relations matters to ensure effective management practices, include: disciplinary, grievances and performance issues,

Job Requirements

BA degree in Human Resources Management, Management, Business Administration Leadership, or other related fields with 5.5 years of experience or MBA/MA in the same field with 3.5 years of relevant experience preferably in banking industry, of which at least 2 years as a relevant officer position.

7.      Branch Manager – Grade B

Essential Functions

  • Remains primarily responsible and accountable for the overall performance of the Branch,
  • Engages in all operational activities of the branch as required by the volume and intensity of the work,
  • Ensures the success and best achievement of the Branch in providing excelling customer services,
  • Aggressively engages in marketing and promotional activities,
  • Cascades the corporate plan of the Bank to the staffs of the Branch and follows up the implementation,
  • Prepares annual action plan of the branch and manages all resources availed to accomplish and meet the goal,
  • Lesions and coordinates with local government and development agencies in resolving issues related to the branch.
  • Coordinate the branch’s operation and Mobilize the capital of the branch,
  • Lead the overall branch’s operation and prepare branch business plan in conjunction with the respected department,
  • Prepare & submit periodic performance report of the branch.

Job Requirements

MA/MBA in Banking & Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, Management and any other related fields with 7.5 years of experience  or BA in the same fields with 9.5 years of experience in banking industry, of which 1years in branch management position or 1 year on Branch Manager Grade C and/or CSM on grade A branch
