Your core tasks will include
- Manage a regional blockchain based Community Inclusion Currencies project[1] which includes monitoring the budget, supporting local implementing partners, overseeing consortia partners, supporting implementation of platform, rolling-out CICs in new geographical locations, helping to design new products and services that integrate to the platform, aligning communications with internal and external donors, partners, and social media.
- Manage and develop our rainwater harvesting initiative, which includes engaging local stakeholders, such as Ethiopian Red Cross Society, applying for grant funding, conduct field analysis, and developing a communications strategy
- Support the development of a project for destitute children living and working on urban streets initiative, implemented in collaboration with Ethiopian Red Cross, World Bank, and Government of Ethiopia.
- Help establish and manage DRC’s Humanitarian Alternative Finance Initiative which includes convening meetings, problem solving, define overall strategy development, co-creating with colleagues from within the Red Cross Movement and outside stakeholders, identify pipeline and support new product development efforts to address strategic needs, support grant writing, and communications
- Overall contribution to monitoring of existing innovative financing portfolio and ensuring compliance with relevant donor requirements
- Support DRC external engagement with multilateral institutions, donors and stakeholders to shape both the agenda, and to catalyse appropriate financing instruments
- Advise and support programme colleagues within DRC and partners

Your profile**
- Demonstrated solid understanding of financial instruments, capital flows, technology (i.e. blockchain), and anthropology
- Minimum university undergraduate degree in Journalism, Anthropology, Organizational Behaviour, Finance, or Behaviour Economics
- Skilled in strategic thinking, planning and execution, change management and system-thinking, and knowledge of organizational development and implementation
- Demonstrated success in project planning, budgeting, management
- Experiences with innovation and capacity development of national institutions
- Fluent English language skills is required
- Skilled in Microsoft Excel and any statistical program; Ability to program in Python or Ruby would be nice to have
- Ability to work in a multicultural environment
- Available to travel in Ethiopia and to other countries
