Accountant

Job Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Preparing and/or verifying financial vouchers and reports with supporting documents and bank requests
  • Prepare, manage and maintain an accurate list of inventory
  • Perform posting and coding of all accounting records
  • Maintain and reconcile balance sheet and general ledger accounts
  • Make reconciliation of bank accounts
  • Assist the technical team with preparation of Performa invoice
  • Ensure that all accounting records are updated regularly
  • Prepare trial balance and adjust on a monthly bases
  • Manage the petty cash and maintain petty cash book, ensuring that petty cash disbursements are  appropriate
  • Maintain the filing of accounting and supporting documents accurately
  • Follow up on staff loan and prepare reports
  • Assist the financial manager in preparation of reports
  • Perform any other tasks assigned

 

 

Required Qualifications

  • BA degree accounting, finance or related business field with 2-5 years’ experience in a similar role in a business organization
  • Strong financial analysis skill
  • Excellent written and verbal communication in both English and Amharic languages
  • Detail oriented with excellent communication skill
  • Superb organizational skill
  • Proficient in Microsoft office and Peachtree (a must)
  • Ability to work with little to no supervision
