lpas Ethiopia is an international non- for -profit organization working to improve women’s lives with focus on reproductive health. Ipas’s mission is to increase women’s ability to exercise their sexual and reproductive rights and reduce abortion related morbidity and mortality. The key programmatic and strategic directions that guide the organization’s functions include:
Expand access to safe abortion and contraceptive services to women, especially young women, and improve quality of care in both public and private health sectors
Expand women’s and young women’s awareness of their options and their ability to prevent and manage unwanted pregnancy
Increase sustainable supply of abortion related technologies, particularly MVA and medical abortion
Active Contribution to creation of an enabling environment for comprehensive abortion care and contraceptive services and increase commitment and resources by stakeholders.
In light of the need to strengthen our relationship with stakeholders and expedite programme implementation. we are planning to hire the following position:-

Position Title: Finance Coordinator
Place of Work: Addis Ababa
Reported to: Finance Manager
Terms of employment: One year with possibilities for extension
Salary: Negotiable

GENERAL DESCRIPTION: The Finance Coordinator provides financial support and performs general accounting tasks
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES
  • Manage and reconcile in-country bank accounts and prepare monthly financial reports detailing office income and expenditures.
  • Assist in financial management and adherence of laws and procedures.
  • Keep books and records according to country laws and lpas procedures.
  • Check payment requests, provide technical assistant to staff and prepare documents for payment.
  • Assist with preparing annual income projections and budgets.
  • Follow up, collect and review settlement documents and ensure that it is captured in the system on timely basis.
  • Check and reconcile balance sheet accounts on a monthly basis
  • Any other tasks assigned.
CORE REQUIREMENTS
  • University graduate and at least 6 years of accounting experience preferably with an NGO
  • Proficiency with word processing, spreadsheet, Presentation software, and email
  • Fluency in written and spoken English
  • Ability to read and interpret budgets
