The Ethio-Wetlands and Natural Resources Association (EWNRA), in partnership with the University of Huddersfield of the UK, which together forms the Southwest Forests and Landscape Grouping (SWLG), Is implementing an internationally funded research and development project in Southern Nations, Nationalities arid Peoples’ Regional State. The focus is in the field of participatory forest management as applied to in-situ conservation of wild coffee. NTFP promotion and market. The project intervention area is Guraferda. North Bench, Sheko and Yeki Woredas with possibility of expanding to South Bench Woreda in Bench-Maji Zone. The following posts are vacant and EWNRA is looking for experienced professionals to fill the post. Thus this is to invite interested potential candidates to apply.

Participatory Planning, Monitoring And Evaluation (PPME) Facilitator

Under supervision of and accountable to the Area Coordinator the PPME Officer Is responsible, independently and/or with other staff members will for preparing annual project planning, analyzing and compiling project activity information preparing different reports including monthly, quarterly, biannual and annual reports. This will focus on project activities, project impact, and the environmental consequences of the project and the socio-economic situation of the local community. The PPME Junior Officer will also liaise and coordinate his/her work with the project team as well as with government staff in the appropriate intervention government offices. He/she will work in the field with the Project’s Woreda Project Officers and the government’s Development Agents.

Demonstrated competencies in own subject matter area specialization, effective report writing skill, superior language and composition skills in executing the job assignments are the ideal requirements of the job. Reasonable multiple tasks assignments, meeting deadlines, working for extended hours are the prominent features of the job that the prospective candidate would understand in advance and should able to endure in applying for the job

Further competency in computer applications of MS Offices packages is required. Application of soft wares such as SPSS, STATA, GIS has additional value, but not mandatory. Superior command of written and spoken skills in English is mandatory.

Qualifications and Experience: In view of the stated job requirements, the potential candidate for the post should have BA/B Sc or MA/MSc degree from recognized Universities/Colleges in Forestry, Natural Resources Economics, Agricultural Economics, Rural Livelihoods and Development (with background in Agriculture), NRM, Agricultural Extension and Rural Development or combination of these and other closely related fields. Besides, s/he should have at least 8 and 6 years respectively of demonstrable work experience in areas of Integrated Rural Development (IRD), Integrated Environmental/ Watershed Management, Forest Management, Livelihoods and Food Security, NGO experience is an advantage.
