The Embassy of Sweden in Addis Ababa is currently looking to employ two National Program Officers (NPOs), one Controller and one Consular and Administrative Officer. One Programme Officer is recruited to work with contribution management in the area of Human Security, Democracy and Gender Equality in the Section for Regional Development Cooperation of the Embassy, and the other will focus on Social protection, gender Equality and economic development/enabling business environment in the Section for Bilateral Development Cooperation. The Controller will be a member of the Quality Assurance team of the two Development Cooperation Sections, with a primary focus on the Regional Program.

The Consular and Administrative Officer will be based in the Administrative Section and will assist in consular matters and administrative issues.

For the NPOs, as well as the Controller, we are looking for candidates who hold at least a Master’s Degree in a relevant academic field, has a minimum of three year of prior professional experience in the specific fields referred to above and documented knowledge from the development cooperation context. For the Consular and Administrative Officer we are looking for a candidate who hold a university degree in a relevant field and that has experience from embassy work, public administration or international organizations and local organisations.

We seek to recruit a Regional IT Support Officer who will be responsible for making sure that IT capabilities and operations in the East and Southern Africa region are functioning at a level that supports PATH’s mission, Serve as a liaison between regional users and the Regional IT Coordinator through regular communications, site visits and assessments, Coordinate with IT and local staff on the IT components of office openings, moves and closings, including vendor selection and oversight, equipment selection and coordination with on site management. This position is based in Addis Ababa.

 

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

 

  • Troubleshoot, diagnose and resolve help desk requests for the region.
  • Serve as a liaison between regional users and the Regional IT Coordinator through regular communications, site visits and assessments.
  • Coordinate with IT and local staff on the IT components of office openings, moves and closings, including vendor selection and oversight, equipment selection and coordination with on site management.
  • Assist in the successful installation and operations of desktop operating systems, desktop software and IT accessories of the offices in their region.
  • Ensure that data backups in all field sites are successful and data is protected.
  • Monitor PC inventories and staffing levels in the regions to ensure that PCs are up to date and adequate inventory levels exist to support new staffing.
  • Coordinate IT support with local IT support and handle Tier 1 and other overflow support requests; report outages and escalate to network engineering team as necessary.
  • Participate in pilots, rollouts and vendor meetings of new and existing technologies in country and make recommendations.
  • Conduct small group and one-on-one training sessions on a variety of IT-related topics to improve the technical capacity of PATH staff.
Required Experience

 

  • Degree in IT or related subject with at least 3 years experience with one year experience in a multinational organization IT support.
  • Proficiency with desktop support and PC imaging; Office 365, Windows 10, familiarity with modern cabling and power standards for IT infrastructure; Knowledge of networking,  MCSE or equivalent demonstrated experience with Microsoft server and networking technologies is a plus.
  • Ability to travel internationally to countries within the designated countries of Ethiopia, Tanzania, Uganda, Kenya, Malawi, South Africa and Zambia will be mandatory.
  • Good communications skill and customer service skills will be required because this position will liaise with PATH staff at all levels within the organization as well as IT vendors and IT departments of other INGOs.

 

You must currently have legal authorization to work in Ethiopia.

Finance Officer

Purpose:

To perform financial accounting work of World Vision Ethiopia including financial services to internal and external customer service. Contribute for the financial and accounting reports accurately reflect the condition of the organization and provide reliable information necessary for operations. Support all line Managers in strategic alignment and management of resources

Major Responsibilities:

Accounting Operations

  • Handle account payable activities as per the partnership financial manual and internal financial policies and guidelines
  • Process inter-company transactions in accordance with transfer agreements , (Funding to CPO’s and APs as well as Sub-Grantees)
  • Facilitate and process all type of employee advance requests and follow up for the settlement of all local travel and business advances within due date
  • Process employee out pocket reimbursement request as per the organization policy and standard
  • Follow-Up long outstanding   advances and payables on monthly basis and keep records up-to-date.

Financial Accounting Operation

  • Pass daily journal entries for all disbursement activity and hold in sun system on transaction level.
  • Review the accuracy of coding and validate journals properly before holding to sun system
  • Maintain readymade schedules for A/c 150, 200, 230-02, 230-03
  • Follow outstanding advances and vendor payables

Financial Risk Management and Compliance

  • Identify and report unrecoverable receivable balances
  • Ensure grant disbursement activity is in alignments with donor and support office requirement
  • Maintain all internal control variables for disbursement activity
  • Properly compile, mark paid stamp and submit financial documents to national archive office
  • Participate in WVE internal, local external and Global Center (GC)  audits preparation

Cover for other Grant Finance officers, Disbursement officer and others responsibility when needed.
