Post holder role and Responsible 

The role will provide technical support and quality control in management, design, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of the WGF program/projects in Addis Ababa and maintain and improve established systems & structures required for the effective timely implementation of quality of the project (s). Ensure appropriate representation and professional relationships are maintained and developed.

The post holder responsible is to ensure programme and projects meet by WGF Programme Standards, including supporting team leaders to ensure effective and efficient delivery of programmes, including high quality support to partners on programme standards and technical issues.

She/he ensures integration as well as smooth teamwork within county programs at the program Unit level. Key components of the position also include supporting the development and implementation in all projects, leading, coordination, organizing, developing and strengthening partnerships and mainstreaming of community development.

Job Requirements

Educational background and Knowledge

Minimum Bachelor degree in agricultural extension, agricultural economics, management and other relevant discipline.

Minimum of 10 years management experience of managing and developing a team of which at least seven years of experience with NGOs setting or similar, with a demonstrated capacity to lead high performing teams, and motivate and develop others

Proven experience of development work and an understanding of relevant issues.

A proven record of effective and complex management in a developing work including managing budgets, staff and funding of the programme. This is to include excellent people management skills, with a good understanding of team development and proven financial management skills.

Proven ability to work creatively, innovatively and effectively with limited direct supervision.

Proven experience as a team worker and demonstrably co-operative with members of other teams.

Commitment to pastoralist and agro-pastoralist principles and action

Good understanding of community development issues, with experience of, or ability to work with local government or communities in the following issues: livelihoods; water and sanitation; health and DRR of how this may link to WGF’s objectives within the programme and in the region, as well as in the use of impact assessment to inform programme development choices.

Knowledge of local context in terms of its political, economic and social trends plus a good understanding of development-related issues in the area

Skills

This role will lead the monitoring, evaluation, Communication and documentations and ensure support and linkages to standards. The post holder is responsible for the delivery of results in line with pre agreed program plans and objectives and oversees program quality and effectiveness at all stages throughout the project cycle. Given that a significant and increasing amount of the work is done through partnership, a key aspect of the role is nurturing, developing and build capacities towards the achievement of results through partners. 

The post holder is responsible to support project designing, overseeing qualities of implementation processes, monitor, evaluate and sharing of leanings by M&E requirements.

Job Requirements

Educational background and Knowledge

Minimum Bachelor Degree in development studies, Agribusiness or agricultural extension with at least 8 years relevant experience of which at least five years of experience with NGOs setting or similar.

In-depth knowledge of project cycle management and community development programming

Knowledge of development issues, trends, challenges and opportunities and implications to community development in the pasturalist and agro-pastoralist area 

Knowledge of the sector specific development issues such as agriculture, health, emergency responses and DRR issues.

Knowledge of effective participatory Monitoring, Evaluation and Communication systems

Skills

Given that a significant and increasing amount of the work is done through partnership, a key aspect of the role is nurturing, developing and build capacities towards the achievement of results through partners.

The post holder is responsible to support project designing, overseeing qualities of implementation processes, monitor, evaluate and sharing of leanings by M&E requirements.

Job Requirements

Educational background and Knowledge

Minimum Bachelor Degree in development studies, Agribusiness or agricultural extension with at least 8 years relevant experience of which at least five years of experience with NGOs setting or similar.

In-depth knowledge of project cycle management and community development programming

Knowledge of development issues, trends, challenges and opportunities and implications to community development in the pasturalist and agro-pastoralist area

Knowledge of the sector specific development issues such as agriculture, health, emergency responses and DRR issues.

Knowledge of effective participatory Monitoring, Evaluation and Communication systems

 Skills

Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to build relationships with colleagues.

Excellent written and oral communication skills, including presentation

Strong negotiation, influencing and problem solving skills.

Numeracy and the ability to interpret programs' findings and statistical data.

Skills in developing monitoring tools, leading the process and reporting

English, Afan Oromo and Amharic is required

Ability to speak Somali has advantage
