Purpose of the position:

 

The Fleet Management Assistant will be responsible for the clerical work of fleet team, for processing of history data, record keeping, fleet information management and generating of required reports.

Major Responsibilities:

 

Perform various clerical duties to the fleet management team

 

Perform all drivers’ data entry for travel advance request and timely settlement using Concur solution. 

 

Maintain detailed, accurate, and up to dated history data of all vehicles of WVE found across the country, submit the required information as needed.

 

Assist the fleet team with scheduling vehicle assignment, updating vehicle status, driver assignments and registration information daily.

 

Perform vehicles accident reporting to Insurance Company, make follow up for timely maintenance, claims settlement and maintain incident record.

 

Support the fleet team   on vehicle annual inspection and insurance policy renewal periodically.

 

Keeps maintenance and repair data and fuel tickets documents and logbook reconciliation.

 

Prepare  compiled and updated periodic report of  the fleet team,

 

Perform related duties as required

 

 

Qualifications:  Education/Knowledge/Technical Skills and Experience

 

The following may be acquired through a combination of formal or self-education, prior experience or on-the-job training:

 

Must have B.A.  degree/ Diploma  in Management coupled with ICT in certificate   

Must have minimum work experience of 2 years for Degree and 6 years for Diploma in related area.

 Basic computer  skills- in Excel,  MS Word and lotus notes

 

Technical Skills & Knowledge:

 Extensive knowledge of various reporting software packages, preferably Crystal Reports Writer (CRW);

 Advanced knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel).

Role Purpose:

Save the Children, on behalf of a consortium made up of three other NGO partners, is seeking an experienced and innovative Project Director based in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia for an anticipated DFID funded migration project that will address irregular migration from and through Ethiopia. The position holder is expected to be a highly qualified professional with strong experience in displacement programming as well as DFID contract management.

The Project Director is responsible for providing leadership, strategic direction and operational management of the project, with direct accountability to the donor and consortium partners. Specifically, this includes satisfying all contractual obligations to ensure work is delivered on time and within budget, monitoring and evaluation of the technical assistance provided.

Contract Duration: 1 year with possibility of extension

Location: Addis Ababa

Qualifications and Experience

Essential:

  • MSc in relevant discipline, including international relations, project management, human rights, law or social sciences, displacement/migration related degree will be an advantage.
  • A minimum of 12 years' experience working in international humanitarian and/or development aid, preferably with displaced populations and at least 5 or more years of senior management leadership position.
  • Proven ability to manage large and complex grants / contracts with substantial experience of managing multi-agency/ partner programmes.
  • Demonstrable record of accomplishment of meeting or exceeding programme targets, while maintaining technical quality.
  • Ability to represent Save the Children and the project at a strategic level and engage and influence key stakeholders at all levels.
  • Demonstrated experience of working with national level government structures, national NGO's and/or local communities Self-motivated and results orientated.
  • Highly proficient with demonstrable experience of data analysis and reporting tools.
  • Experience in management of finance and budget monitoring and risk management.
  • Highly diplomatic and emotionally intelligent with strong oral and written communication skills in English.
  • Substantial experience of guiding and leading strong teams in a multicultural context with a focus on coaching and mentoring.
  • Experience of solving complex issues through analysis, definition of a clear way forward and ensuring buy-in.
  • Commitment to Save the Children's aims, values and principles.

Desirable:

  • Post-graduate qualification in social science, international development, or other relevant discipline.
  • Substantial experience of working and living in the region, ideally with professional experience in country.

  • Technical experience and experience in migration, protection and/or livelihoods programming.

  • Prior management experience of DFID-funded programs including the payment by result.

Background:

In March 2017, the Ethiopian Revenue & Customs Authority (ERCA) Director General established a Tax Transformation Office (TTO) within his office, with the objective of supporting and delivering an ambitious tax transformation. This unit was designed with the full endorsement of the Prime Minister’s Office, and follows a detailed diagnostic conducted on Ethiopia’s tax system in 2016.

The primary aim of the TTO is to support and track the implementation of a series of tax reform initiatives by enhancing existing escalation channels and reporting mechanisms across ERCA’s hierarchy and systems. The TTO is expected to deliver a lasting transformation of ERCA and meet ambitious national tax revenue targets.

The TTO reports directly to the Director General (DG) of ERCA, with less hierarchy and more lean support than traditional divisions. The TTO is expected to overcome a wide variety of complex implementation challenges, including initiative roadblocks or failure, reprioritization and owner change. The TTO will also serve as a highly-visible signal of transformation to ERCA and will be a role model of committed, results-oriented, and successful delivery practice.

The TTO is structured around the DG’s five Priority Areas for reform: Audit, Debt, Large Taxpayers Office (LTO), Organizational Health, Data and IT. Each Priority Area consists of two to five initiatives, and is supported by a team of two individuals based within the TTO – Coordinator with expertise in tax and ERCA’s operations, and an Internationally trained Priority Area Advisor with deep expertise in implementation and delivery.

About the role:

We are looking for a tax expert who will work directly with the audit department and TTO audit team at ERCA to provide technical expertise to improve ERCA’s audit processes. The expert will provide international tax audit expertise, Ethiopia tax code knowledge, problem-solving rigour and analytical capability building to revamp the audit methodology at ERCA.

The expert, audit department heads, ERCA Audit Advisor and ERCA Audit Coordinator will together support ERCA’s audit process improvement.

Responsibilities and duties will include:

  • Diagnosing current state of the ERCA audit processes and methodologies to identify pockets of excellence, and making additional process improvement recommendations
  • Engaging in weekly internal problem-solving sessions with audit team leaders and the audit process owner at the LTO for real-time improvements to on-going cases
  • Working alongside the relevant heads of audit at the LTO to monitor the quality of audits conducted at the LTO
  • Build consistent technical capabilities across all auditors
  • Coaching auditors on project management and other relevant skills for professional development

  • Ethiopian tax code
  • International Auditing Standards as they relate to tax audits

In addition, all potential candidates should demonstrate these core competencies:

  • Strong analytical skills
  • Familiarity with Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel
  • Mental toughness, resilience and the ability to cope in demanding environments
