Role purpose
Provide high quality analytical support to the market HRD and HRBPs. The position holder will own all end to end reward tasks for the market by linking in with our global reward team. S/he will be in charge of providing strategic total reward offering solutions to the Ethiopia market, and partner with the HRBPs in designing and implementing performance linked reward offering 
 
Top accountabilities 
 

  • Resourcing
    • Manage salary ranges to support HRBPs with new hire package decisions.
  • Talent and Learning & Development 
    • Build reward capability to the HRBPs
    • Build reward capability to all the LM’s
    • Manage graduates/early career talents reward offering
  • Service Delivery
    • Point of contact for queries on inbound IA benefits, payroll management and tax related matters
  • Reward
  1. Reward Processes & Administration – Executes the annual reward cycle with detailed analysis, modelling and reconciliation.  Completes administration tasks and analysis for local share plans.  Processes vendor invoices.   Completes job evaluations.
  2. Reward Plan Design- Develops local Annual Incentive Bonus, share plans, Sales and Supply Incentives and retirement plans through detailed analysis. 
  3. Market Research – Completes external salary surveys by preparing local market submission and responding to additional data requests. 
  4. Reward Projects – Completes data collection and analysis for various reward projects as needed (e.g. HRIS, M&A, audit support, reorganization, policies, employer branding, HR projects, etc.)
  5. Governance & Compliance -   Completes data analysis and preparation of local Reward Committee papers.  Follows agreed procedures to ensure internal and external compliance.
  • Employee Relations
    • Supports the Human Resource Director and HR Business Partners  in wage negotiations completing necessary reward analysis
  • Financial Management
    • Assist HRD in tracking and managing total overhead budget (including those in COGS line) for the business area and the non-staff related costs. Monitor the costs against business targets & budget.
  • Strategy
    • Always ensure the company is abreast of the reward offering strategies, trends
    • Provide the business with best in class reward offering strategy for out market to attract, retain and motivate employees.

 
Qualifications and Experience Required
 

  • Candidates must have 3+ years of HR generalist experience
  • Demonstrated ability to build and develop effective relationships with key stakeholders in a corporate environment
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic, fast paced, high performing culture
  • Demonstrated ability to lead projects and positively manage change
  • Bachelor’s Degree qualification

Operations Surge Delegate

The Canadian Red Cross Society, a not for profit, humanitarian organization dedicated to helping the most vulnerable in Canada and throughout the world, is currently seeking a Operations Surge Delegate for its Emergency Drought Response Operation in Ethiopia.

Below normal rains in southern and eastern Ethiopia resulted in drought, which will severely affect the population’s access to food and water, as well as increasing the risk of disease outbreaks. The Government of Ethiopia’s 2017 Humanitarian Requirements Document estimates that 5.6 million people will require emergency food assistance.

The Canadian Red Cross (CRC) is supporting the Ethiopia Red Cross Society (ECRS) emergency operation in Kindo Koysha woreda, in Wolayita zone to provide humanitarian assistance to affected populations. This operation has been developed in coordination with the existing ERCS drought response plan, which include the IFRC supported drought emergency appeal operation.

This CRC-ERCS operation is focusing on the provision of safe water, basic hygiene promotion and supplementary livestock feeding to save the lives and improve the resilience of those severely affected by the drought in Kindo Koysha (Wolayita zone, SNNPR). It focuses primarily on life-saving, immediate relief activities including the provision of emergency water via water trucking and the installation of water storage tanks in the affected communities, and hygiene promotion campaigns. A component of supplementary feeding for livestock has also be implemented simultaneously. This intervention is being extended by a 6-month period (September 2017 – March 2018). Additional activities during this period will include borehole drilling and hygiene promotion, construction of a warehouse and prepositioning of non-food items.

The role of the CRC Operation Delegate is to support the ERCS to implement planned activities and ensure the effective delivery of humanitarian assistance to drought affected communities.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • In close collaboration with ERCS, oversee implementation of timely and high quality activities of the CRC-ERCS Emergency Drought Response Operation, including field level activities implementation;

  • Work closely with ERCS headquarters (HQ), management and branch staff for a coherent, effective implementation that adheres to project requirements and timelines;

  • Monitor and report on progress of activities implementation including the provision of monthly narrative reports to the CRC National Office (N.O.);

  • Responsible to ensure financial management procedures are adhered to, including review of financial expenditures and documents, in accordance with the PCA;

  • Responsible to ensure procurement procedures are adhered to, in accordance with the PCA;

  • Support close cooperation and coordination between CRC-SERA programming and the operation;

  • Provide technical support to ERCS during the implementation of the response, including the provision of training to field staff if needed and/or provision of technical drawings or designs in collaboration with ERCS technical staff;

  • Work closely with the CRC N.O. focal point (“Event Lead”) to ensure adequate information sharing, cooperation and adherence to other CRC operational requirements;

  • Supervise the closure of the operation and/or integration of remaining activities in ERCS regular programming upon completion of mission, including the production of a final report;

  • Ensure the maintenance of existing processes and effective working relationships for the coordination and collaboration with Movement Partners and CRC-ERCS bilateral operations, including IFRC.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education, Experience and Knowledge

  • Experience working for the Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement in an international context for a minimum of 3 years;

  • Experience working in partnership with National Societies (in a multilateral or bilateral operation/program), preferably in Africa;

  • Experience working in disaster management, specifically in slow onset emergency context;

  • Knowledge of water, sanitation and hygiene promotion in humanitarian context;

  • Experience in project management, including planning, monitoring, evaluation and reporting;

  • Experience in financial management;

  • Knowledge of logistics and supply chain management procedures;

  • IMPACT (International Mobilization and Preparation for Action) Training or equivalent knowledge.

  • Reconfirm the Debtors balance report at the end of the month is correct, updated and reconciled, the report should mail to Finance Manager within 6th day from the end of the month.
  • Monthly Physical verification of Fixed assets with Fixed Asset register with coding of fixed assets.
  • Preparation of Stock reconciliation (including service center) report between month end physical stock and book stock.
  • Perform and properly file bank reconciliation every two weeks for all banks including service centers.
  • Prepare and submit (after getting approval), workings for loan requests and interim financial statements.
  • Provide for recurring monthly expenses as well as monthly accrual adjustments in the NAV.
  • Liaison with the ERCA and properly follow up cases between the company and the ERCA.
  • Prepare and submit weekly and monthly management accounts to the FM.
  • Prepare special purpose reports and analysis as required by the FM or GM.
